Key Shop

  • Becoming an Authorized Key Requestor:

    • To become an authorized key requestor, individuals must complete the authorized keys form. This form must be signed by both the applicant and the designated approving officer. To verify the authorized approver for your department contact, please contact Building Access for assistance.
    • After completing the form, please upload form to our work order system by clicking here or by using the red "Service Request" button below.
      • Please select common problem: Access - Locksmith Services (Physical Keys)
    • Once submitted, the Building Access team will notify you when your account has been activated to request keys.

    Requesting Keys:

    • Once your account is active, all key requests must be submitted through the Key Request system in CIS.
    • Building Access will notify your requestor when keys are ready for pickup—typically within 24 hours after receiving the request.
    • A valid University UID is required to pick up keys.
    • Upon key pickup, a copy of the approved request will be provided to the requesting department for record-keeping.

Key Request Authorization Form 

  • Please bring the broken/bent key into the office (USB 250) and it will be replaced.
  • If a key has been lost, please notify Campus Building Access.
  • If a lost key is later found, it must be returned to Building Access.

  • University Project Managers or Coordinators are responsible for making arrangements with outside contractors requiring building access, and shall coordinate all lock work through Building Access.

  • Locks may not be installed, repaired or replaced on any doors without the specific approval of Facility Operations. Departments will be liable for any resultant damage or costs of corrections if unauthorized installations are made.
